Dr. Patrice Smith was born and raised on the beautiful island of Jamaica. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Dental Hygiene and Biology from Northern Caribbean University (NCU) and Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CUNY), respectively. Dr. Smith went on to receive her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Howard University in Washington, DC. While completing her doctoral education at Howard, she held several leadership positions, was on the Dean’s list all four years and ranked among the top of her class. Dr. Smith then went on to complete her Orthodontics Residency at said Howard University. Her hard work and dedication positioned her to become the Chief Resident of her Orthodontics program where she graduated top of her class. Dr. Smith's determination and high standards were recognized through the numerous awards she's received such as the Orthodontic Postdoctoral award in Biomechanics and a superior post-doctoral research award.
Dr. Smith continuously strives for excellence, which is evident in her patients’ newly minted smiles. She is a certified provider of Invisalign and Invislaign teen and is a member of many professional affiliations. Those affiliations include the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), American Dental Association (ADA), Southern Association of Orthodontists (SAO), North Carolina Association of Orthodontists (NCAO) and High Point Dental Society. She is also Board eligible with the American Board of Orthodontics.
When Dr. Smith is not at the office she enjoys travelling, yoga, hiking, reading a great book and spending quality time with family and close friends.
